Nope, when you use a bluetooth keyboard the onscreen keyboard will disappear. That is why you end up getting double the screen real estate which really helps when typing long documents, emails etc.

The virtual keyboard does disappear whenever a physical keyboard is connected to the Ipad via Bluetooth. Some physical keyboards offer a key that will pull up the virtual keyboard if you ever needed it.

On apple keyboard hit the "eject" button (top right one) to bring the virtual keyboard.
