Auto wake and sleep

Is it possible to disable the Instant On/Off / Auto Wake/Sleep function?

I like to keep my iPad switched on while the cover is closed sometimes. For example I might have my iPad in my bag while I am listening to music or waiting for calls on Skype etc. I don't want to switch it off every time I close the cover.

    yes you can turn the feature on and off in settings
