Does the microphone work on my iMac and MacBook Air? I'd like to use this as a headset make calls as well as listen to music on my Mac.

Yes they do, just like any pair of apple headphones with the remote and mic. functionality, the microphone works with all Apple products!

No. Microphone on P3 cable only works with iPod's, iPhone's and iPad's.
