Does this wallet protect your iphone 4S as well as the plastic cases you purchase does?

For. ex. I have dropped my iphone in the plastic case and it has been fine. If I drop the wallet, does this protect the phone, as I understand the phone does not fit in the wallet with a case on it.

    I use mine for my ipod Touch [3G]. It's a bit loose but I solve that by hooking my pen/stylus on the inside before I put my ipod in. Works a treat for me. I've dropped my numerous times & nothing has happened. The devices are well padded & well protected in these wallets.
