The SmartRadar will work in Peru and the rest of the world, but the Escort Live! app currently works ONLY in North America.

Yes and no. I do not recommend buying SmartRadar for use in Peru.
Technically yes the detector will work just fine in Peru. The Escort Live iPhone app, which you use to display and control the SmartRadar detector, is only available to iPhones registered in North America. If your iPhone is registered in Peru then you will not be able to download the Escort Live app from The App Store.- Answered by Larry C
