How to connect AppleTV to an external monitor that has VGA, composite RCA and other inputs? I have an old 40" plasma monitor.

This adapter will do that for you. Simply plug the HDMI plug into the AppleTV, and plug a VGA cable into the other end of the adapter, plugging the other end of the VGA cable into the VGA input on your monitor.
