Is it possible to try this product first to see if it will work for what I need?

I have an iMac with the Mountain Lion system. I am looking for a program to convert photographs to pen and ink type drawings. Will this product work for that and how artistic to I have to be. I can't draw stick figures.

    Think of a tablet as a mouse on steroids. Software works with tablets like this one, but the tablet itself will not do anything that your hand doesn't tell it to do.

    If you want software to convert photos to what look like pen/ink drawings, I'm going to guess you need Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator. If you don't plan on doing any drawing or tracing yourself, you probably don't need a tablet at all.
