If you daisy chained 2 of these together would it double the speed that it could read and write to the drives if you used a raid set up?

It might double the speed. You can go from RAID 1 to RAID 10 by daisy chaining two of these -- and the speed will double. It might not be exactly twice as fast, but it should be significantly faster. See the Western Digital website for details.
