Is there such a thing as an eSATA to Firewire adapter? Do you need to connect both Firewire ports at the same time, or only one to use this product?

There is no adapter and the 2nd FW port is for daisy-chaining another drive. You can NEVER hook both up to the same computer.

Just one FW port is needed, the second port allows you to connect additional FW drives to it. the eSATA to FW adapter is built into the HDD, pick a single connector that you need and connect it up, you can always switch between eSATA to FW to USB.
