How long does it last, or is it an instant charger? My iPad takes 12 strait hours to charge up to 100% and that runs my iPod for aprox 3 hours!

This only charges your device, it doesn't extend battery life (although you could use it like that). Therefore, it will not make your phone/iPad last longer than it usually does, however, you will be able to charge it again.

It will charge an iPad 3 about 50% and can charge an iPhone 1 and a bit charges, in my experience.
