Can I use the camera while the phone is in the case?

Yes. does nicely from either side and all apps i've used work.

I have used the camera on an iPhone 4s in a Mophie Juice Plus side by side with an iPhone 4s without a casel, and I have found no difference in the photo quality, with one exception: the Mophie Juice case actually acts as a lens hood when shooting outside, and takes better photographs than an iPhone 4s with no case on it, especially reducing lens flare. Also, the Mophie Juice is quite effective in protecting the camera and flash.
