Does it require a monthly service to work?

We have 2 autistic children who are prone to wander. A monthly fee of $15 would make it very difficult for us. Is there a way for the device to work without a monthly monitoring service?

    AL - Serving customers with special needs is something near to our heart. Each PocketFinder locator has an embedded SIM card built into it requiring each locator to have a monthly service fee. Today that fee is $12.95 per device. We are looking at the actual costs associated with each PocketFinder and something that is at the top of our list is offering a family plan discount on the monthly service.

    We've also experienced that it is of huge value to be able to see locates every 5 minutes throughout the day rather than simply locate on demand which has a number of limitations. We've been available to the public for less than a month with steady activations each day and hope to be able to offer a family discount in the near future. Existing customers would definitely be eligible. That's good business. Thank you for your interest!
