Under heavy rain, will this backpack protect all the electronics inside?

I would be using it for college in England for transporting my 15" Macbook Pro and cables/accessories, iPhone, iPod, etc...
If it rains A LOT will the bag keep its contents dry? I would hate to spoil thousands of dollars of laptop!

    Got the backpack not long ago, but it went through about 5 minutes of a downpour without wetness inside. The water beads well on the surface and can be flicked off after easily.
