On the Harman Kardon website it says the SoundSticks111 have 40 watts amplification yet here it says the sub-woofer is 20 watts, why the difference?

40 watts is the total power, including the speakers and subwoofer, as follows:
Power Rating (Left and Right, Each): 2x10 watts RMS per channel
Power Rating (Subwoofer): 20 watts RMS per channel
