When using theEye TV,hooked to the DVR,is the DVR able to be watching another channel than what my MAC is watching

EyeTV acts as a DVR. Unclear what you are asking. You can't watch a different live program from the one being tuned by your cable/sat box. You can watch a pre-recorded program while a different program is being recorded.
