Will I be able to use a 21.5" late 2012 iMac for display/keyboard/mouse to connect a brand new Mac Mini with just a thunderbolt cable?

  • No, a Thunderbolt cable by itself can only be used for display, data transfer or IP/networking connections. It does not provide a simple method for display/keyboard/mouse sharing. Specially designed software might permit such an application, but I am not aware that this exists.
