  No. Target Display Mode requires a DisplayPort connection, which some Mac Pro video cards have, or two native Thunderbolt connections. See Apple support KB articles HT3924 and PH4469 at support.apple.com.

• Unfortunately this won't work for your set up as this adapter is one-way - FROM a Thunderbolt port on a computer TO a FireWire port.
  
  For conformation of this you can read Apple's support document HT5309 "Apple Thunderbolt Adapters: Frequently asked questions (FAQ)" or search online for "Apple's Thunderbolt FireWire adapter is a one-way connector" (with quotes) to read an article.
