    Hi there,
First, in order to run Lion, make sure your Mac has an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor. You also need at least 2GB of memory and 7GB of Hard Drive space. You also need to first upgrade to Snow Leopard (OS10.6.6 or later) in order to download and install Lion (buy Snow Leopard DVD ($29), install and do Software Updates from the Apple Menu until you reach OS10.6.8).

Once you are running OS 10.6.8, then go to the online Apple Store and purchase and download Lion, and install.

Be prepared to update third party software once you install Lion. Lion discontinues "Rosetta" support for applications that are not native to Intel processors, so older applications (such as Microsoft Office 2004) will not run under Lion.
