    Yes you can, both MacBook Pro ranges, with and without the retina display, are shown on the Apple website and are available brand new.

    The old MacBook Pro has a lot of extra features and functions which were dropped from the new retina version; a Firewire port, discrete graphics card, an IR receiver for the Apple remote and a built-in optical drive, as well as a significantly lower starting price, so Apple have kept the old version in production alongside the new one.
