Can I replace my Mac Pro Tower with a new laptop?
I have a Mac Pro tower with 8GB ram
2 x 2.66ghz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
I also have an older 17" Laptop.
Thinking about replacing both with a newer laptop (retina). I'm a heavy Photoshop user, Video compressor, occasional After Effects user, visual designer running many apps at once. My desktop is still ok, my laptop chokes on most of what I do.
Is one of the new Mac Pro laptops going to be sufficient, fast, noticeably faster than my desktop? I would imagine they should be since my desktop computer is about 5 or 6 years old at least I think.
Also I am guessing I would need a new Thunderbird monitor for when I am not traveling or can I plug a new retina laptop into my existing 23" Cinema Display?
