  I'm pretty sure that Apple only sells the GSM flavor of iPhone 5 unlocked. So you could use it on AT&T or T-Mobile, but not on Verizon or Sprint. It would also work in other regions (e.g., Europe) where GSM is prominent. Of course, you'd need to get a nano SIM card from the service provider you choose.
