Overview

Apple Remote with iPod

If you connect your iPod to a home stereo, powered speakers or TV set, the Apple Remote lets you experience your songs, slideshows and more from across the room. Just plug your iPod into the Universal Dock and choose a playlist, slideshow or video. Then, sit back, relax and enjoy. Ready to move on to the next song? No need to get up from your sofa--just press the forward button on the Apple Remote. Phone ringing? Just click pause, then pick up where you left off.

The Apple Remote offers play/pause, volume control and forward/back buttons.

The Apple Remote requires the iPod Universal Dock and any iPod with a Dock connector.

Apple Remote with Mac

The Apple Remote gives you total command of your music, photos, videos and DVDs from anywhere in the room. It combines with Front Row -- a menu-driven, full-screen interface -- to make accessing your Mac's digital bounty from any seat in the room as simple as navigating your iPod. When you click the Apple Remote's Menu button, your desktop fades and Front Row's sleek interface takes its place to give you control over your music in iTunes, your photos in iPhoto, the videos in your Movies folder and whatever DVDs you want to play. Turn up the volume. Shuffle. Skip to the next chapter on your DVD. Play a slideshow, a home movie you made in iMovie, even a movie trailer. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

I'm a student and I present a lot of Keynotes for class. The Apple remote is great, because it's and size, it's easy to carry it iRead moren a pocket or backpack. I haven't ever had trouble with the IR signal (with my 13 inch unibody MacBook), and I amazed at how simple it is. Bravo, Apple!

    My first mac

    Written by SH from Davis

My mother and i live in an apartment, we have bee wanting to get a computer for quite a while. I was so excited when she told me wRead moree were getting a mac!!! the day we set it up i found this little remote for music and movies. Although skeptical at first , i LOVE it, i have a very bad immune system and therefore spent a lot of time resting on the couch. With the remote I don't have to move around when I'm sick just to change my music. I am quite satisfied with this product and would without a question recommend it for a family with teenagers such as my self, or just anyone with a love for music and easy access to it.

    Great Presentation Remote

While mine came with my Mac before they were separate products, I would definitely pay $20 for this if only for a presentation remRead moreote. Works with Keynote AND PowerPoint. It is also good for playing pranks on people that don't have a remote paired to their computers...

    Why IR?

    Written by RC from Edmonds

I think an apple remote is a great idea, and I believe they can make it usable with only 6 buttons, but why use IR? IR is the dinRead moreosaur of wireless communication ... you'd think apple to be more foreward thinkng then that.

Doesn't every mac come with bluetooth now? Wouldn't this be a much more usable product if it was bluetooth enabled?

    Useless for the New iPOD

Written by MH from New York

I bought the extra "Universal craddle" $39.00 and the remote $29.00 total USD 68.00

    For what?

    1. Play/Pause
    2. Skip tracksRead more
    3. Volume +/-

    THATS IT!!!

    Menu button does NOT work.
Video out only displays streaming Video. You can not even display the Firmware (Menu). People with bad vision would have loved that feature for displaying album art on a 15in (LCD). This remote should be priced at USD15-20.00 max.

I am disapointed in the new iPod and accessories.

Should be doing a lot more for the money!!!

PS: You dont even get a power supply or craddle with the new iPod. I guess we got lucky getting the sync cable in the box.

    DISAPPOINTMENT TIMES A BILLION

    Written by MH from Ardmore

I hope i can reach another soul and keep them from buying this lame item. please learn from my mistake. I purchased the new videRead moreo ipod with the hopes of perusing the the menu with this baby and the universal dock on my tv linked to my stereo system. what a waste of money. The video ipod can't even show a menu on the tv. so you have to stand next to it to adjust slide shows and video. i thought the problem with not seeing the menu would be something akin to the xbox remote, where when you use it the dvd playback future actually activates and works. but no...

no menu display. what's the point of a remote to play your slide shows and videos if you can't even see what you're selecting.
DISAPPOINTMENT AND A WASTE OF MONEY.
