Satisfied, well more than satisfied really - experiences with iPhone 3GS

I wanted to bump up the rating on this product really, because although all the Reviews here are pretty accurate, I feel the headphones deserve a better rating.
Sure they are not perfect, but I am really happy with my first BT Headsets. I would also strongly assume that Sennheiser will not bring out BT headphones if the quality is really bad. Good thing that they also allow cabled listening too.

I have only used the Headphones with an iPhone 3GS in Bluetooth Mode. I also only use it for music, so comments about audio lag in Video I cannot confirm, but I hear that this is the case.

    PRO's
    - These are my first BT Headsets and I am totally happy about the cordless comfort. It truly is an experience not to have to worry about the cable anymore. Although I have some in ear Headphones for summer, I found that when I am packed in a big jacket in winter and walking arounf with a sling bag, managing music and cables around slings and through jackets very annoying. Now I just have my phone in my jacket pocket and don't have to worry about managing the cable anymore. They also keep my ears warm :)

    - Light weight
    - Foldable and with a pouch that now holds the cable for charging the headphones and my iPhone. With me where ever I go.
    - Excellent for travel. Bluetooth for the train, and corded for the flights.
    - My wife says the microphone quality while phoning is better than the inear headphone I have. I generally am always in a quiet environment when I make and take calls, so no idea if background noise is very disturbing while calling.
    - A side effect of having to use the Phone to change tracks means the phone is now in my outside jacket pocket, meaning further away from my heart, and less warm than in the inside jacket pocket.

    CON's
    - They seriously Drain the battery on the iPhone 3GS. I usually charge my phone overnight, and by the time I get home in the evening having used the phone for all types of RSS reading, chees playing and 2-3 hours of BT music listening I am down to 20%. Without BT music, this was around 45-50%
    - Not being able to change tracks on the headset is annoying. In particular, because the volume you can change on teh headset, but not on the phone, the tracks you can change on the phone, but not on the Headset...I understand that this is something that needs to be fixed in the iPhone BT stack, but I think people should know about it in advance, because I only found out about it afterwards.
    - The BT Sound quality is a bit "tin"ey I find. I will compare it to the cables and see if it's really the BT mode, or if I am just used to inear headphones with more bass.
    - Occasional disruption in audio playback when unlocking the iPhone...
    - I have custom ringtones for people, unfortunately the ringtone doesn't sound through the headphones, but on the phone (when audio is on), in the headpones there is only a bunch of beeping to indicate a waiting call.

I got these headphones with great hopes and started using them right away sadly I found that the sound qualitly is good but good is not what I wanted from 270.00 dollar headphones. As for the built in microphone it is poor at best it picks up every single noise around you and replays it thru the headphones it is very annoying and makes making phone calls while doing anything impossible. I wanted the mm400 to be awesome but I'm am saddly dissatisfied :( More

Disappointed with lack of functionality and versatility.

I had research this product extensively before purchasing them so I was aware of issues like the delay when using the bluetooth connectivity which makes them useless for playing video games or watching movies. You can watch movies with them if you use the direct audio jack connection but this disables the bluetooth entirely, including the built in microphone. I was hoping to use these with my MacBook Pro as well as my iPhone but the mic doesn't work with the Mac only the iPhone. But even when the mic works it is a disappointment. I was hoping to use these when commuting on the bus to make calls but the microphone picks up all the ambient noise around you. Everyone I called complained. I had to switch to the iphone's regular earbuds to make a call. The controls also do not worik with the iphone over bluetooth besides pause/play. It won't even allow you to use the headset's mic for 3GSs voice control feature. Basically all you can use them for is listening to music, and the sound is good but not good enough to justify the price when there are active noise cancelling headsets in the same price range. Hopefully the next version will be better. I would recommend that since it already uses usb to charge they allow the next version of this headset to be used through the usb by the computer. That would make me take a second look at the product. More

Sound Quality Great - Controls Need Work

I bought these to wear outside walking the dogs and to work out. I've had them 3 days and used them a lot already. I've gone through 4 other bluetooth headsets (Rockr, Jawbone, B&O, Sennheiser M100).

These feel great - the fit is good and usable with glasses. They're comfortable on the ears without a lot of ear pain after more than an hour of continuous wear. They're snug enough to deliver great sound and still let in a little outside noise so you don't hear your own breathing and can still hear traffic.

The control design looks intuitive, but I still have trouble hitting the on off instead of the forward / reverse. And the on off isn't great. I usually have to take them off and fiddle around with them to turn them off. All the other headphones I've used have had a very decisive on off button.

    Haven't used them for calls...

(This may just apply under Snow Leopard.) You can pair the earphones very easily using the Bluetooth preference pane. Once they're paired, you need to tell yoru Mac how to use the headphones. Click the Bluetooth menu in the ride side of the menu bar, and go down to "Sennheiser MM400" where you can choose to connect via mono or stereo. You can change when you need to, for switching between "music" applications and "chat" applications. I did find that audio quality was disappointing under Snow Leopard until I did the following:

    1) Enter this next line into Terminal and press return:
defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Apple Bitpool Min (editable)" 50
    2) Turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on for the change to take effect.

They will remember pairing with up to 8 devices simultaneously, but I believe you can only have an active connection with one device at a time. More
