    The TomTom car kit works great for me. I like not having to connect a power adapter and audio jack before I put it into the holder. With the TomTom car kit it is easy to put in the iPhone and take out with one hand.

    A lot of people on the internet have been complaining that the price is too high for a holder. In my opinion, this product is a convergence of many different products into one. A great holder, Bluetooth speaker phone, charger, car stereo audio adapter and enhanced GPS chip. I have done away with my Bluetooth speaker phone a different holder and audio adapter and the ease and convenience works well for me.

    I have been using the Navigon Mobile Navigator and its accuracy has seemed to improve with the Car Kit's GPS chip.     …More

    While I won't argue that this is a bit expensive for a holder ... it's much more than that. In addition to holding my iPhone at eye level, the GPS, built into the holder made my TomTom app coordinate in a matter of a couple seconds and stay on the correct road ... no more jumping over to parallel side streets. It's night and day the accuracy the Car Kit adds to the GPS that's built into the iPhone!! In addition, I can now do conference calls in my car without having to use my BT ear Piece. The ear Piece can get very uncomfortable and also runs out of power when I have back to back or long calls.

    I did try another windshield mount in the past and the quality that the TomTom Car Kit has far surpasses the others. They felt cheap and were definitely not built to last like this one is!!

    Great Product Overall!, Except one thing.

    So alot of people have been complaining about the audio interference when the kit is docked and connected to your aux jack. Unfortunately they are absolutely right. Buuuut!! fortunately I found a solution. Griffin makes a product called "noise reducing audio cable," thing works like a charm! Apple doesn't sell it online but just google it, plenty of other places have it.. I'm telling ya, without this cable the audio interference is unbearable!.. i'm gonna give it 3 stars because without that audio cable listening to music would be impossible. Had tomtom fixed this issue in development i would have given it 5 stars... Makes u wonder what they were actually improving upon when they delayed the kit. …More

    but and a Big but, it works only if connected to the

    Works great - not a great fit, though

    Overall, I really like the car kit. It does exactly what it says it does, and does it well. Once you get the initial lock (which took a while when it was fresh out of the box, or if you are in a totally different part of the country), it's very quick to get the sat signal. The speaker is good. BT pairing is simple, and I have it set up with my iPhone and BlackBerry (work phone). I don't have any issues with it staying in whatever position I turn it to as some people seem to have. I think the detents work really well.

    The only thing I don't like is how you put the phone in and get it out. It's too tight. The top should move up and out of the way rather than be right there and very tight. You try to bend it up out of the way, but it's so tight/tense that you can't do much. The Dock Connector pivots forward, which helps, but not enough. Looking at the Magellan dock that just hit the FCC, that is a better design - the top holder slides up and off the iPhone. That also provides for some future-proofing since a future iPhone may be taller or shorter than the current model.

    So, basically, it works really well, but is a very tight and exact fit.     …More
