    The TomTom car kit works great for me. I like not having to connect a power adapter and audio jack before I put it into the holder. With the TomTom car kit it is easy to put in the iPhone and take out with one hand.

    A lot of people on the internet have been complaining that the price is too high for a holder. In my opinion, this product is a convergence of many different products into one. A great holder, Bluetooth speaker phone, charger, car stereo audio adapter and enhanced GPS chip. I have done away with my Bluetooth speaker phone a different holder and audio adapter and the ease and convenience works well for me.

    I have been using the Navigon Mobile Navigator and its accuracy has seemed to improve with the Car Kit's GPS chip.     …More

    While I won't argue that this is a bit expensive for a holder ... it's much more than that. In addition to holding my iPhone at eye level, the GPS, built into the holder made my TomTom app coordinate in a matter of a couple seconds and stay on the correct road ... no more jumping over to parallel side streets. It's night and day the accuracy the Car Kit adds to the GPS that's built into the iPhone!! In addition, I can now do conference calls in my car without having to use my BT ear Piece. The ear Piece can get very uncomfortable and also runs out of power when I have back to back or long calls.

    I did try another windshield mount in the past and the quality that the TomTom Car Kit has far surpasses the others. They felt cheap and were definitely not built to last like this one is!!

    Excellent except...

    The speaker is great, the signal excellent and the fit terrific, but the adhesive on the back of the plastic disk is totally inadequate to stick
    to anything but flat upright dashboard and the suction cup doesn't
    stick at all...it's totally useless. I ended up having to glue the suction cup to the disk.
    Also, the message that keeps coming up telling you that you need to download the app is very annoying. I read here that there is a free app that can be downloaded to stop the message and I hope that is accurate.     …More

    There are no words, I LOVE IT.

    Yes its pricey at 120.00, but I read about another coming out that is 189.00 (not from tomtom)

    Up and running in 3 minutes, Great signal strength

    Blows all the cheaper ones away, it is worth the cost for the built in GPS chip enhancement

    Works with all gps software, I have 4 and no problems, just GREAT RESAULTS

    Take the plunge, buy it. You won't regret it.

    How to fix horizontal position

    A couple of reviewers complained about the horizontal position not working. The rotate does feel loose when you spin it. However, you can also move the cradle up and down while in vertical (or left-right in horizontal). There is a center detent for this, which if you put the cradle in when you rotate to horizontal balances the weight of the iPhone. Voila, it stays in horizontal.

    Also, I had a problem getting my wife's iPhone to pair with the Bluetooth. My iPhone had no problem. After some troubleshooting, I restored her iPhone software and updated her carrier service and everything now works fine.

    My overall impression is that I love this product. It does exactly what it says it does. The speaker is loud and crisp. The microphone works great. GPS accuracy and availability is much better than on my iPhone 3G by itself. The mount is truly awesome. I attached the disk to my dash rather than the suction cup directly to my windshield. Except for the problem with my wife's iPhone, I would have been up and running in about two minutes--simple and elegant.     …More
