Welcome to Rapture, a city where opportunity awaits those brave enough to grasp it. A city where the artist need not fear the censor. Where the scientist is not bound by petty morality. Where the great are not held back by the weak.
Enter a thrilling, mysterious version of the past
Set in an alternate 1960, Bioshock places you in the middle of an underwater utopia gone very badly wrong. To survive, you must turn everything you find into a weapon, use your powers of observation to piece together what happened and make the difficult decisions necessary in order to escape.
Experience richer game play
With its complex story, meticulous attention to visual detail, tense action and infinite replay value, BioShock delivers the perfect blend of storytelling and first-person action. An experience that makes you think while you play.

Amazing Game, Albeit A Little Late For The Mac
Written by FL from Rancho Palos Verdes

This game is my obsession. I installed Windows on my MacBook Pro solely to play it (before it was available on the Mac) and have played it about 8 times through. Even though it's quite late for the Mac - the sequel comes out on February 9, 2010 - it's great for the people that don't want the hassle of installing Windows on their Macs. Either way, get the game! It's an experience you will never forget. Rise Rapture Rise! …More

Scary and bloody fun in a retro underwater world!

But lots of fun if you are not squeamish. Bioshock is a power hungry game. I am running it in my Mac Pro with an 8800 gt. I'm sure the new imacs will handle this game nicely, and my macbook pro can handle it pretty well with the resolution and graphics options turned down a couple of notches. The game runs in full wide screen mode unlike some games that have been ported to the mac and the graphics look amazing based off the unreal 3 engine. It may be late coming to the mac but at least it made it and it is really is a fun and different with a very original story, it's a scary and violent game. Be prepared for some nightmares..... …More
