Well, the Beats by Dr. Dre (white) is the same quality as the original ones. I've purchased both of these products because they were so amazingly awesome and stylish. The bass is strong enough to make you deaf if played with maximum volume (1/3 max volume is about the same of a max volume regular apple headphones!) The sound is great for hip-hop, rap, techno, but not really for country music (or anything without bass really)I also love the feature of the phone cable because you can answer calls. One of the amazing things about the beats is the mute button, because it's tedious to take off your headphones/pause the music when talking to someone. The white version removes the visibility of fingerprints unlike the original.
Cons: The cords are rather long (4 feet)

Alright, I purchased these white beats when I first seen them at my local apple store. Got home and the cushion came off of the left speaker. They sounded great, but for $300, I sure as H@$^ didn't want the cushion coming off. So I exchanged them for another pair. "everybody at the store was very nice and didn't give me a hassle, thank god, 'cause people usually like to do that to you at stores. hint: best buy" but anyways, I get home and both sides of the 2nd pair were loose (didnt come off) but loose, and it was almost as if the screws weren't tightened all the way? They sounded awesome still though. One of the sales reps. at the store said that he owned a pair and said that his screws would come loose time to time and he had to take a wrench to them to tighten them up? I thought that was pretty fishy for a $300 pair of headphones. I contacted monster cable and they said for me to return them and the next pair I get "if I decide to get another pair" is for me to open them up in the store. These headphones not only look great but sound great also.
I have had them for a bit and there are some problems. The band across the top broke with just normal use (stress fracture) also the tiny screws that hold the band together back out and I have lost one so far. For the price I wish the outerparts were aluminum instead of cheap plastic.
For metal and hiphop these phones are great. But know that even with baby care like you would for any 300 dollar set of headphones they may still break or fall apart from just wearing them.
They really should sell after market headbands for these so the multitude of people with broken ones wouldnt have to buy a new set. Keep an eye on your screws so they dont back out and get lost. …More144 of 172 people found this useful

Sound Quality- You would think this of all things would be the most important aspect of a pair of headphones. Not so with there. I have a paid $150 for a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50's, and they sound better. Not to say the Beats are terrible, they are don't measure up to other headphones in this price range. These will only blow away people used to stock earbuds, etc. 7/10.
Looks- Amazingly sleek and awesome. Just look at the pictures.
Build Quality- Wobbly, unstable, and every time you close them- they make a horrible snapping sound. It feels like you will break them! My left cup slides down all the time. Don't feel like $300 dollar headphones should. 6/10
Comfort- Amazing! Sit on your head perfectly, and enclose your ears. Your ears will never get sweaty, and you will want to wear them for hours on end. A little heavy for headphones but the comfort makes up for it. 10/10.
Noise Canceling- Creates a slight pressure on your ears, uncomfortable at first, but you get used to it. I don't fly often, but I used them on the bus today. Steady frequencies in the lower range are totally canceled. Mid-range and high frequencies are barely muffled. Voices are still there, as are any sudden noises. Only long frequencies (engines, air conditioners, etc.) are affected at all. Bose QC15's do a better job in this category, but create more pressure than the beats. With music all noises are gone, so I don't care. Bose QC15's actually cancel too much. You can't listen to music without the noise canceling on, which requires two AAA batteries. Creates a soft white noise in the background which you quickly forget about. 9/10.
Accessories- Lackluster cleaning cloth, airplane adapter, and horribly manufactured "iSoniTalk" cable. Hard case is ok. 3/10.
Price- These headphones are worth $150. I would consider $200 if I really needed the noise canceling (if I traveled a lot). I know it might be overwhelming, but consider other headphones from brands like Sennheiser, AKG, Grado, etc. They have double the sound quality for half the price.
Who does this appeal to? It appeals to "hip" people ages 10-25. Kids see celebrities or whoever endorses these. It is the "hot" product. Monster charges a ridiculous amount for one reason- people will pay it to look cool. This product has genius marketing behind it, but no actual substance.
Final Thoughts- I returned these. Getting studio headphones made much more sense. Sound that ACTUALLY sound like it does in the studio. Why? Because that is what they made the song on! Not Beats! They cost about half as much, and last forever. They are build solid and have anywhere from 2 to 10 years of warranty. They are actually respected among the audio world, not just fashion accessories. If that doesn't convince you, maybe this will. If you buy a pair of ATH-M50 headphones, they are around 150 dollars. They will sound better, and last longer. What would you buy with the $150 you save?

I have been researching these headphones for almost 2 years now and I finally decided to buy on Black Friday when Apple had them for $228. I have not been disappointed...yes they leak sound (if they didn't, with the noise cancellation feature...your eardrums would be non existent by 2013)....yes they appear broken in the stores...thats because window shoppers MANHANDLE them because they don't have to pay for them.
From my research, monster will replace these babies if anything breaks on them and people have reported success. However, overall treat them like they are $300 and you will reap the rewards. My friend has had them for a long time taking great care and has not had any problems. Not really no. They are so cheaply made, they bleed so much noise and break so easily. I estimate they cost about 30 quid to make.
You can buy a set of Dj headphones for 120 quid that are as good as these and sound as good, only you dont get the noise cancellation. Thats all these headphones are good for.
They do go loud, but are not 'better' than bose, or any other headphone for that matter. I have six pairs of high end headphones, inc bose, and i would not say these are 'better', as they are all designed to do different things, so it would be wrong to compare them.
Everyone wants these because celebrities and footballers wear them, thats all, and because they go 'loud', people get the illusion they are 'great' and have 'great sound quality'. They are very comfy to wear, but like i say, cheaply made. Mine are already going back for repair. However, they are a nice looking, comfy, loud set of cans.
