    Best $100 I've ever spent

    My hard drive crashed a few months ago and the only way to get my computer to work again was to have the hard drive erased, and a new operating system installed. I was warned that I would lose everything, which I did. I went to a few shops that specialize in Macs and told that they "might" be able to retrieve data and the cost would be several hundred dollars up to a thousand dollars just to "see" if any data could be retrieved. Luckily for me I waited.

    I saw Data Rescue 3 at the Apple Store and was immediately attracted to the low price (only $100) and I figured I would give it a shot before deciding to spend big bucks at one of the specialized Mac stores. I installed the software and ran the program overnight. When I woke up it had found all the data that I was hoping to retrieve (all my pictures from iPhoto). The software worked beautifully and seemlessly.

    Since i'm kind of computer illiterate I ran into a couple snags that were not the fault of Data Rescue. I was able to write a quick email to their support team and through a couple emails with Mike was able to resolve all my issues and I now seven years worth of data back.

    Recovered images on reformatted SD Card

    Helped with a busted RAID drive

    I was able to use this product on my RAID-1 drive that had suddenly gone blank and within seconds after running a quick scan I saw all of my files and was able to retrieve over 350GB of precious family videos.     Saved my data on old HDDs!!

    I have used this product for more than 10 scans on old Hard Drives, flash drives and when a friend accidentally deleted more than 20GB of data. I have been able to recover files I completely forgot I had; files I had deleted and forgot about, but was very happy to recover; and files that were just hanging out on HDDs from old computers.

    Saved my rear end

    Was in a rush and trying to reformat a drive for a client, I accidentally reformatted my main data drive. Gulp... Googled and luckily found these guys. Downloaded the trial version which enabled me to see what I would be able to rescue.     Miracles do happen...

    I didn't think this kind of rescue was possible. It was a worst case scenario: In my haste to format a 2GB SD card, I accidentally clicked on my 2TB Video drive and hit "erase". BOOM. I had erased thousands of pictures and video's that WERE NOT backed up (let's not even discuss that - it happens)

    To make a long story short, I bought Data Rescue 3 and hooked the erased 2 TB drive up to my laptop with a 2TB USB drive and started the program. After an almost 24 hour scan it seemed to find EVERYTHING and more. It found 3.4TBs of info. It was recreating things that hadn't been on the drive for AGES. In another day and a half, it recreated and copied everything I wanted to a new USB drive. I'm still stunned and eternally grateful that this was even possible. Thank you Prosoft. : >     …More
