G-Technology 250GB G-DRIVE mini Portable Hard Drive
Excellent product!
Written by LP from Roanoke

I purchased this mini G-Drive as a companion external hard drive for backup of my MacBook Pro (late 2008) and am more than pleased with it's functionality, sturdiness, and ease of use. It does not run hot as it has an efficient heat sink built in. Runs off the computer so there is no additional power adapter to fool with. Doesn't take much power and does not slow down the computer. G-Technology makes a fine product and I look forward to many years of use of this drive. I highly recommend it. …More

G-Technology 250GB G-DRIVE mini Portable Hard Drive
completely dependable
Written by AK from Emeryville

I've had the non-mini version of this drive for 4 or 5 years and it's been perfect. I only pull it out of the closet to plug it in for backup once a week or 2 or 4 (I know, don't judge :-) ), so maybe it would perform differently if used daily, but I've never had a single problem with it. It was reco'd by an IT professional friend, and I'm about to buy another now that it's full. It's quiet and fast too. …More

Is the G-Technology 500GB G-DRIVE mini Portable Hard Drive compatible with Snow Leopard?
- Asked by DK from Naples
- Oct 12, 2009
Best Answer
10/15/09 I just hung up from G-Technology's sales department as I had the same question you asked and the 500GB G-Drive mini and full size are compatible with Snow Leopard. They state that they work together with Mac and there products are tested by Mac. I have read and read everywhere about external hard drives and have now, thankfully, made my decision and it will be this product. I have probably read hundreds of reviews on various hard drives by people that have already made purchases and it appears that many external hard drives are not compatible with Mac and if compatible with Mac not necessarily compatible with Snow Leopard. I hope this helps you. You can certainly go to the G-Technology website and get their phone number (California) and verify what I am saying.
