Belkin Headphone Adapter with Remote for iPod shuffle (3rd. Gen.)
Works Exactly As Advertised
Written by JB from Portland

I got the talking iPod Shuffle when it first came out for my wife. We both love how it works and it's portability but the headphones would not fit her ears. There are other products that do the same thing but we didn't want something that covers the iPod, making it bulkier. This little device is exactly what we were looking for. It attaches her favorite headphones and give full control over the iPod Shuffle. It moves the controls from the top of the headphones cord to the bottom, but what are you gonna do.
My only grip was it took so long for something simple like this to come out, 5 months after the introduction of the 3rd gen iPod Shuffle. Something like this should be included with the iPod. …More117 of 129 people found this useful

Finally and it's long overdue

After several months of feeling stuck with the apple ear buds, freedom has arrived. And this adapter is great, although I've yet to test it's performance during exerice. I'm keeping my fingers crossed when I give it a go during a workout. The controls on this adapter are slightly larger than the remote on the apple ear buds and feel less fragile. Now I'm beginning to feel satisfied with the purchase of this shuffle, and it's about time. …More

Belkin Headphone Adapter with Remote for iPod shuffle (3rd. Gen.)
Not for workouts...
Written by AN from Laurel

I bought the iPod Shuffle for use while running and lifting weights. The standard earbuds worked decently, but tended to move around a bit. To solve this problem, I bought the Belkin adapter and some behind-the-ear headphones. As others have reported, this adapter works well for a while, and then suddenly breaks. After about three weeks of regular workouts, I am having the following problems:
-The volume down button is unresponsive and takes about 50 presses to get it to work
-The center menu button only works if you press it in *precisely* the correct spot, which makes it difficult to pause/switch songs
-The volume up button is overly sensitive, sometimes increasing volume when I'm pressing the volume down button
I would recommend this adapter if you are going to use them for regular day-to-day activities, but not for working out. It is very fragile, and seems overly susceptible to damage from sweat. …More14 of 18 people found this useful

Yeah, it works exactly the same as the earbud controller that came with the Shuffle. The only difference is that the controls are located near the iPod (as shown in the pictures), instead of further up the cable near your neck. …More
