Incase Slider Case for iPhone 3GS
Does the job...for the most part
Written by GD from Hamden

I purchased this case a month ago for my new iPhone 3G S. Initially, I was one of those people who didn't want any case - I hated all the bulky cases that took away from the iPhone's cool looks. But once I got my iPhone, I realized I would simply be using it far too much to not have some sort of protection on it. So, I reluctantly began my search for a case. At first, I thought I could get away with a leather sleeve, but I realized that it would be just more efficient to be able to see who is calling without having to pull my phone out of a case each time.
I settled on the Incase Slider for two reasons: First, the guy at the Apple store told me since I don't have a belt-clip holder (and don't want one), this case (unlike the more rubberized cases) would be easier to remove from my pocket. And second, when I asked him how the case protects your iPhone in the event you drop it, he took his iPhone out (with the Incase Slider on) and literally dropped it (from waist high) to the hardwood floor. That pretty much sealed the deal for me.
Now, onto the review: Pros: Overall the case does its job - which really boils down to me feeling comfortable that it's safe in the event of a drop or whack or whatever. It does (as the Apple guy said it would) slip in and out of my pocket with ease, and it really doesn't make the phone look too bad - I bought the black case and it doesn't add much bulk or weight.
Cons: There are few minor annoyances: Initially, it takes a little force to remove the case from your phone (you have to flip the iPhone over and pull the case apart using both hands) but once you do that a few times, it becomes second-nature. I was also little annoyed it wont fit on the iPhone dock with the case on, but oh well. And, since this case offers no screen protection, I purchased the anti-glare crystal film cover to help protect from scratching the glass. Perhaps most ironically, the case itself causes some faint scratching on the back (especially if your phone is black) and along the chrome sides of your iPhone. These are really minor, but are noticeable if you look hard enough.
Perhaps once my new phone gets a little older, I won't mind using the iPhone o-natural. But until I get the courage to do that, this case is doing it's job giving me piece-of-mind.

Incase Slider Case for iPhone 3GS
Withstood falling out of a car at 50mph on an interstate highway.
Written by RL from Union City

Left my 3G on the hood of my car and jetted off to the nearest highway (101-N/Fair Oaks Ave). The rubber texture held my 3G on the car until I accelerated into the on ramp to shortly hear a... thump clang! The phone was shot off and over my car at ~50mph with light traffic. When it was recovered, there was minimal damage to both the case and the phone. My 3G did not even shut off and has a tiny scratch at the point of impact. AMAZING PRODUCT, HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. …More

Incase Slider Case for iPhone 3GS
Almost perfect case
Written by RR from Livonia

This case feels great, it isn't sticky like the soft stretch-on skin cases are, and it doesn't have the slick and plasticky feel of other hard cases and the iPhone 3G/3GS. Instead it has a soft rubberized finish that is somewhere in between the two, and at the same time is sticky enough to help keep it in your pocket.
The only drawback is that the rubber strips inside it somtimes leave a glue like residue on the back of the iPhone. These rub off easily, and I have not seen any scratches on my iPhone, but I would not recomend removing this case often. If you leave the case on all the time then it works finethis case is so great you won't want to remove in anyway. …More55 of 63 people found this useful

Incase Slider Case for iPhone 3GS
Does what it should, Perfectly.
Written by GD from Mountain Lakes

Firstly, I understand that some find this case a bit simple.
But look, if you want a discrete, sophisticated case which protects the phone from scratches and does what it should, GET THIS CASE!
I have had 4 people (I'm being honest and won't exaggerate) comment on how great the case is, and these are the people who are conscious of what's out there in terms of accessories.
Another plus - it feels great. It isn't the shiny, cheapy, thin plastic of most cases, it has a matte finish which doesn't stick to your pocket but doesn't slide out either. Really great.
And it doesn't scratch your phone; it may leave a mark if you remove it repeatedly but a little rub with a towel or a soft edge removes it instantly. People need to at least try before complaining in a review with 1 star. …More4 of 5 people found this useful

Incase Slider Case for iPhone 3GS
Highly Flawed!
Written by CL from Washington

There is a major design flaw in this item. To make a long story short, the top portion of the case does not fit snug and tight enough to the point that my iPhone slid out and fell to the floor three times since I purchased the case one month ago. And for $34.95? The previous one-piece soft silicone case was a much better product and better value at $15 providing all of the protection my iPhone needs. Plus, the silicone case has some shock-absorbing value unlike this hard slider case.
Buy this item and you risk breaking your iPhone. Not worth it!!!! …More5 of 7 people found this useful

I have a number of cases for my iPhone but my favourite has to be the incase slider. I found that the screen protectors lifted up at edges when the case was on until i tried the power support anti glare which i think is thinner . You don't need to purchase a screen protector but the anti glare eliminates finger prints. Hope this has been helpful. Enjoy your phone. …More
