Speck 15" SeeThru Satin Case for MacBook Pro
Overall, A Great Cover
Written by JL from Byram

Similar to the Incase hardshell case, the Speck case is plastic with a rubberized surface. I compared the two side-by-side in the Apple Store, and to me, the Speck has a bit better quality. There are subtle touches, such as the beveled edges around the thumbscoop and IR port, and the glove-tight fit that set this case apart.
And after reading the reviews of the Incase, the Speck is almost certainly the easier of the two to install and remove. The plastic edges wrap around the case itself, rather than clipping into the air vents. As such, it's quite easy to remove by simply slipping two of the clips on one side back over the edge.
I do recommend what one reviewer of the Incase mentioned, though, of using a table to make the install. I've installed mine both on a table and holding it, and the table's much easier. It's not that it won't go on, but that it simply takes longer. Also note, if your MacBook Pro is "broken in", the added weight to the screen will prevent it from staying put. It will tend to fall all the way backwards.
Overall, I've been very pleased with this case. It does a great job doing what It's designed to do, and looks very stylish while doing it. I highly recommend it. …More52 of 53 people found this useful

Speck 15" SeeThru Satin Case for MacBook Pro
Does its job, but not worth the price
Written by RT from Jersey City

It does a good job on protection. I don't have to worry about scratching the aluminum. It does add a bit more weight to the MacBook Pro itself, but it's not bad. Don't notice any heat dissipation problems. So all in all, it's a great product, but I think the Incase version is better. For $50, the Incase is crafted better, while the Speck looks cheaply made. I wouldn't spend more than 30 dollars on this. …More

Speck 15" SeeThru Satin Case for MacBook Pro
Great case, easy install

Bought the speck case after comparing the incase and the speck side by side and noticing no difference.
Maintains full open angles, no more binding and stopping from bending back
Still a little expensive for what you get, and the instructions could sure use some work as it's very easy to install the top piece backwards unless you focus very well on the little drawings. …More11 of 13 people found this useful

Speck 15" SeeThru Satin Case for MacBook Pro
Awesome case
Written by SA from La Grange

I really like this case for my 15" MacBook Pro that I recently purchased. It works perfectly and it has a high quality fit, feel, and look befitting an Apple product. With a satin finish, it does mark up a bit, but most will wipe off with a damp cloth, but I feel that permanent markings are still fairly easily made. However, it protects the outer aluminum from scratching and other marks, which is essential. My one complaint would be the price, which is awfully high for a simple case, as I purchased mine at my University's computer store which was selling them for $15 less, but I'd probably would still pay full $50 bucks for a good looking and high quality case if I had to. …More

Speck 15" SeeThru Satin Case for MacBook Pro
Great solution for protecting your MacBook
Written by JN from Charlottenlund

I've read and watched a couple of reviews which enlighted the possible overheating issue, and i was a little nervous that the hardshell would result in my MacBook overheating. But after having this for about a week i haven't had any problems at all with overheating. The install was very easy, and the protection is brilliant. The surface of the SeeThru satin is very nice to work with, and you can see all lights on your MacBook. It does ad a little extra weight and off course, thickness but carried in a bag or so, you doesn't notice it. One of the other negatives is that it's quite difficult to remove the hardshell again, but not impossible.
but overall a great product that is very recommendable, for protecting your MacBook Pro. …More4 of 7 people found this useful
