Overview
You take the shot, but Eye-Fi Geo does the rest. It uploads, geotags and organizes your photos based on where they were taken.
Free auto-geotagging
The Eye-Fi card senses the surrounding Wi-Fi networks as you take pictures. It then translates the information to a specific physical location and automatically adds a geotag to your photos. When the card imports them into iPhoto, they'll be organized by the different places where you took them.

Great product idea, but it still feels like a beta...

I use it with a Nikon D-90 and the wireless upload is a tremendously useful technology that it works really well. However, there is very little feedback from the wireless network to the camera, leaving a lot of uncertainty as to whether you're still connected, the transfer status of the images, etc. It may be different on other network set-ups or with other cameras, but if that is the case then it should be noted as well.

I read the other reviews of this item. I can't say I totally disagree, but I don't totally agree either.
One, this isn't GPS. It wouldn't be possible by being inside the camera without a view of the satellites that make GPS possible.
Second, for most people taking pictures with cameras that accept SD, this is a great product. Chances are people are using a point and shoot and not a high end SLR with this card. More than likely, the photos are being taken in a urban to semi-urban area. Under those circumstances this product is extremely good. Wifi signals are plentiful in these areas. (what the Eye-Fi uses to get a position fix) It saves to the card regardless if it has access to the internet or not. My Canon G10's 15mp images transfered to my computer over my network in about 5-8 seconds each and popped straight into iPhoto '09.
My gripes, or areas I think could be improved are small things. Like another poster says... the card could provide more feedback about when it was an was not sending photos and weather or not it was finished. I only think this could be accomplished if the camera was designed for two way communication with the card, most aren't. Next, 2gb is pretty poor in this day and age. More memory would be nice.
One of the other reviewers said it only works with some cameras and you have to check the site (as the small print on the box says almost verbatim from the reviewer). I checked the site. It says... All cameras that accept SD. Not too limited.
On the whole, it is a very solid product and I think in most snapshot situations it is great. If you're a hiker or spend lots of time at the center of national parks, look elsewhere for your Geotagging solution. …More157 of 168 people found this useful

If you explore the wilderness areas of western Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, don't waste your time with this item. Might work well if you move from one Starbucks to another, but without a nearby wifi hotspot, there is no geolocation function.
Can't believe Apple would be associated w/this toy.

The 2 Gig card will not work with RAW files.... only Jpegs.

This makes the card useless to me. If you want to do RAW you have to buy the PRO CARD .This is a 4 gig card and will also allow you to upload the file directly into your laptop or desktop machine. The company does not publish these facts.
Also if you are using the 2 gig card you must use their website to collect your photos on.
All this make the total process rather confusing and misleading.
But once you get it all sorted out, it is great. No wires.
But for Pros, don't bother... the download process is painfully.... S L O W...

I was very excited when I heard of this product and ordered it right away. Unfortunately I had trouble with set-up and had to use on a second computer, but even when I got it working, the transfer of photos is so slow as to not be feasible for any real application (I was thinking of using for event photography to prevent having to change cards all the time). It certainly feels like a prototype versus a commercially ready product. I did hear however that they are working on compact flash cards as well so maybe given enough time, this product will be improved. For now - I would save your money and wait until the technology improves. …More

This is the perfect solution to get your photos on your computer with no hassle. I love the fact that pictures are sent anytime the camera is on and when I open iPhoto they all import based on date. Geotagging is awesome and makes sorting pictures even better. My wife can even "download" pictures now. I could not be happier with the product! …More

Q. Will it work with a Nikon D300?
A. No. The Nikon D300 uses Compact Flash cards. Eye-Fi Cards are only supported in SD or SDHC cameras. They are not supported or compatible in CF based cameras.

No. If your card and and computer are on the same local network, the card will transfer photos to the computer via the wifi router spawning the local network. An internet connection is only required to set up the card. Once configured to use your network an internet connection is not necessary for transferring photos to your computer. …More
