Sure Fire Hot
Written by SE from Houston

Bought this little drive today. Hooked it up to my MacPro via FW800 and copied my 100+GB iTunes library to it. That took about 30 minutes (not too bad). Unfortunately, it got very hot (uncomfortable to hand hold until it cooled down some). Thinking it was the amount of data and the speed of transfer (FW800), I tried using it on my MacBook Pro (FW400) and Macbook Air (USB 2.0). Just leaving it connected to the MacBook Air (no data transfer/access - just plugged in via USB) and it was very, very warm. My last two hard drives were such trouble that I wasn't expecting much from this one. But it's so easy to use. Just plug it in, that's it. It doesn't do automatic back-ups or anything like that, but I don't really like that. I can plug it in at school and save everything I do onto it. It's so stress-less! …More
