sounds FANTASTIC!

Got the Bowers & Wilkins zeppelin and then got the ihome iP1 as well.....to be honest, the iP1 sounds almost as amazing as the zeppelin but costs half the price! Clear and crisp sound and very rich, deep bass.
Trust me, don't even think about getting the Bose or any other ipod/iphone speakers on the market now. Waste of absolute time and money! Get either the B&W zeppelin or the ihome iP1 - period. You won't have any regrets, just pure listening bliss! …More89 of 92 people found this useful

Sounds Great!
Written by KG from Dana Point

Yes, it sounds great and it looks great. You will not be disappointed by either.
The so called "Bongiovi DPS" feature enriches the sound. It is basically an audio enhancement or Base Boost.
Be forewarned, that you will need to take your iPhone / iPod out of its case in order to use these speakers. As page 4 of the manual says, "Remove your iPod/iPhone from case or skin before docking".
So, you will need to spend an additional $25.00 on a Dock Extender, unless you don't mind removing your case/skin every time you want to dock and listen to the beautiful sound the iP1 is capable of producing.

True, I am a total iPod fanatic and I can't get enough of this stuff, but its been a long time since I've seen a speaker that really impressed me. This thing sounds incredible. I live in a pretty large apartment and this ihome easily fills it with great sound. And I love the way it looks, very cool, looks like apple designed it to me. …More

Surprisingly Wonderful!
Written by JR from Staten Island

I think the biggest problem facing this unit is the iHome name which is a name associated with low cost iPod docks that are good values but surely not viewed as major contender in the high end iPod docks grouping.
I'd strongly suggest you compare it to Bose, Altec etc....side by side...
This unit is a superb choice if you are looking to purchase units costing up to $500. No it costs alot less, but the sound and design are truly excellent...warm bass...clear treble and midrange..
How you like the physical appearance is subjective. If potential purchasers had a chance to try this unit out, I know they'd be exteremely happy and perhaps shocked at what $300 can buy.
A superb choice. …More4 of 4 people found this useful

I returned this product because
Written by DB

I returned this product because the sound and looks were so bad.
First, they call this "innovative stylish design." But in real life it looks cheap and unfinished, like it was an in-car system ripped out of the backseat of a Honda Civic.
Next - there is a lot of bass - that's not hard to do with a 100W system. But the bass is muddy and mono. And there is no control in the midrange, it's just unbalanced. The highs are also not crisp - in fact, they stress the ear because they are so out of balance and tinny.
If you want a high-powered iPod-based system that doesn't sound awful, you can't get it at a $299 price. You have to go to B&W (599), or the new Bose 10 (599), or the originals, the GenevaSound series of stereos (699 and up). …More15 of 54 people found this useful
