    My favorite image editing program!

    Written by RM from Pueblo

I purchased Pixelmator originally for my daughter to play around with however after playing around with it myself I now use it daily for everything from professional image/photo editing to the small family photos that need retouching. Sure I could use Photoshop and yeah Photoshop is more powerful however I haven't found anything I can do in Photoshop that I can't in Pixelmator.

It does take some getting used to coming from Photoshop but the FEEL of the Interface is what keeps me using it. I may be able to do things easier in Photoshop but Pixelmator's interface is so "fluid like" that it feels very comfortable to the point where the same work in either program gets done in just about the same amount of time. What's better is it also seems more stable than Photoshop or previous earlier of Pixelmator itself. Nothings worse than using a $1,000+ piece of software only to have it crash on you in the middle of your work.

    Great piece of software! A+

    Affordable & Fantastic

I've been using pixelmator since it came out. Very robust set of tools with an elegant user interface. One of the first few image editing applications to come out on Leopard that uses the GPU for fast image editing.

You can't go wrong with this application for it's price and rich experience.

I'm a Web Designer and have found some of the neat filters and processors in Pixelmator, a fantastic asset to create quick and simple effects in a fraction of the time it would have taken big brother (photoshop) to do in terms of steps.

Must have for people looking for alternatives to Photoshop Elements.

    Great Inexpensive Image Editor

    Written by MW from Melbourne

This product will be useful to anyone who wants to touch up or apply a little fun to their photos.

Pixelmator is a great piece of software for the average consumer. It can handle almost all of my needs, but I do have Adobe Photoshop for the small percentage of things Pixelmator can't do. Since installing Pixelmator, I rarely launch Photoshop because Pixelmator is a lot faster than Photoshop (because it uses the GPU and Apple's Core Image and Quartz Composer technology).

Each release of Pixelmator brings more and more unique features. Pixelmator has it's own more intuitive ways of handling things. Like a click-and-drag Magic Wand and an easy to use brush creation pallet.

Try it, it's easily worth the cost.

Makes me feel like a pro!

I remember using Photoshop in college. And since I never used it since then, it was easy to forget everything I learned! Fast forward a couple of years and traveling more, I wanted to edit my photos the way I wanted to. I bought pixelmator based on other reviews and I have to say: This makes it easy! Everything you need in one recession-proof pricing. Pixelmator made relearning simple photoshop style editing a blast and the interface is similar to Photoshop if you are more of a photoshop guy. Great buy. More

    Handy

I use it daily because it integrates well with my workflow and other Mac applications.
Practically every image I have published or posted online during the last two years has at some point been processed through Pixelmator.
It opens quickly and efficiently. That allows me to process images for deployment to the web or into projects while I still have multiple applications open and running.
Provides the tools I consider necessary to prepare my images ready to be viewed as intended.
In addition there is a deeper toolset offering any number of ways create and customize images.
Enough so that this was the only editor I felt compelled to bring over after my last computer purchase.
    Reliable. Highly cost effective.
    Good luck!

    Excellent Value

I have CS4 and Pixelmator, and for most editing jobs, Pixelmator works extremely well. It also has a fantastic interface that makes it enjoyable to use (and it looks incredibly nice as a bonus), and is SO much cheaper than almost any other program. They are constantly updating it and adding new features, which makes it a great investment. More
