No skin or case allowed on iPhone

I just bought this unit. The concept is great!! Unfortunately when I read the manual that came with it, I found out that there can be no skin or case on the iPhone. I played around with the docking inserts before I broke down and read the manual. I would guess that almost all iPhone users have a skin or case, meaning you have to take it off each day. ... not practical. It sure looks like they could have designed it to allow for standard skin or case dimensions....arrrrrg. Not sure what I'm going to do yet, so I I've only given it 2 stars for now. This is the best ipod speaker/alarm system out there. I use this everyday and love the battery back up if the power goes out or if it accidentally comes unplugged. The switch for daylights savings time is very helpful too, you don't have to keep setting it. …More

I have had this docking system for many years and it still works as good as when it was brand new. I use the alarm every day and listen to my I pod when i wake up- my favorite feature : )or you could wake to the radio or beeping noise. I also listen to the radio and the sound quality is fantastic! It is extremly easy to use, anyone can use it. Another thing that I really enjoy about this docking system is how easy it is to set the alarm time, you just press a button and change the time for the alarm. The sound can go from really quite to as loud as you could ever need (and every where inbetween)and the sound is as clear as I've ever heard. I would definitley buy this docking system again, even though its a little pricey, it has lasted me 3 years and has everything I would ever need. …More

I have the iPhone 32GS and yes it charges mine. Not sure where the other person is having any issue at all. I just put it on the dock and it charged. Only down fall is you can't have a case on the phone. Hope this helps. …More

yes, the clock is powered by 2 AA batteries and works independent of the powersupply. you need to plug the powersupply for audio. …More
