Overview

The iP88 offers maximum convenience and versatility combined with advanced features and great stereo sound that totally and effortlessly incorporates multiple iPhone or iPod models into your lifestyle.

Perfect flexibility

Two universal docks let you charge and play two iPhone models, two iPod models or a combination (switch between playing your iPhone or iPod in either dock while they both charge). Three independent alarms let you set three separate alarm sources and times—you can even wake to a custom playlist.

It's so easy

Preset time and date makes set up simple, as do eight presets per AM/FM radio band. Access unit controls and iPhone and iPod music menu functions in comfort using the included remote control. Listen to alternate audio sources via the line-in jack.

Ultimate convenience

A Daylight Saving Time switch lets you adjust the time instantly. Or use Time Sync to sync the time to your iPhone. A programmable snooze lets you select variable snooze times, while a programmable sleep timer lets you sleep to your iPhone, iPod or the radio.

Superior sound

The audio reproduction is fantastic, thanks to iHome's Reson8 ported speakers' cabinet technology and EQ controls like bass, treble, 3D sound circuitry and balance controls.

Features

  • Three independent alarms with 7-5-2 setting capability for waking to iPhone, iPod, custom playlist or radio every day, weekdays or weekends
  • Two universal docks charge and play your iPhone or iPod
  • Attractive design enriches any room
  • Infrared remote lets you control volume, EQ, and navigate basic iPod and iPhone music functions
  • Time sync button to synchronize unit clock with iPhone/iPod time
  • Line-in jack to listen to aux audio sources, such as a computer or CD player
  • AM/FM radio with eight presets per band
  • Programmable sleep and snooze

Did you notice?

The radio zone feature lets you select the proper radio frequency settings for use in North America, Europe, Japan or Australia.

    Works great for me!

    Written by KP from Parsippany

I'm a student majoring in engineering and am using this iHome iP88 docking/clock iPod Touch G2 charger as my primary alarm.

Positives: Great simplistic look, great quality, no glitches found, FM radio reception is spectacular, works seamlessly with my iPod Touch (no improvising). One button time-sync is awesome! Sound is decent for its purpose. Good value; got it brand new for 20% off and with bonus noise canceling ear buds. I love a good bargain! Happy shopping!

Negatives: Seems a little pricey still, but worth it. So many buttons can become confusing late at night, especially after a few drinks. Flawed design allows for catastrophic damage to iHome iP88 system or iPhone via charging station (connection is NOT flexible). Not for kids. I would like to see some "ruggedized" products like this. Waterproof electronics should be standard, especially in cell phones and chargers.

    Good Idea, okay implementation

Written by AM from Pleasant Hill

This product seems like a great idea, two people with iPhones can charge them together on their alarm clock with everything sync'ing. Problem is there are a few little glitches.
First, the phones go to vibrate. This doesn't seem to be a problem unless you are a support engineer and need to hear when someone is texting or emailing you in the middle of the night.
Second, it's bright. You can turn off the backlight but if you do don't expect to find any button except snooze. The dimest setting before off is still too bright so you are caught. I have to use my phone's alarm instead of the clock's just so I can turn it off without waking my wife.
Third, it's somewhat unreliable. We had ours 3 months before it just stopped working.

    Buyer beware.

    No earphone/external speaker jack ! ! ! ! !

    Written by JG from Lexington

    Dec 6, 2009

Everything it claims to do it does. It does it all well. That said, why was an earphone jack overlooked? My iHome was purchased for the office and disturbing neighbors is not an option. It has been explained that earphones can be plugged directly into the iPhone, but this is a solution if iTunes is the source of my listening. The radio sound is not transferred from the iHome through the iPhone to the earphones.

TIP OF THE DAY: Purchase an Airport Express and connect to line-in jack. Play your iTunes from your MacBook wirelessly!

    No Line Out Port!?

Written by JK from Clifton Park

    Dec 5, 2009

I asked for this iHome for Christmas and its really nice but I can't believe there is not a line out port. I have external speakers and a subwoofer that I am able to use with the older iHome that I have now but I guess I won't be using them now. Over all it is a great product idea and being able to charge two devices is great. I don't understand why iHome would do away with the line out port it doesn't seem like there's a reason to not have it. Maybe Apple can come out with some kind of converter cable for situations like this; I would deffinetly purchase it. I give it four stars for a great looking product, awesome idea, but lacking one component that I would like to have: The Line Out Port. More
