Instant access to HD camcorder video from your Mac
The Turbo.264 HD video converter software is fast and easy to use, and can handle nearly any kind of video file including downloads, MKV files and AVI files. Turbo.264 HD saves you time – especially if you use an HD camcorder – because you can preview and crop your video instantly, before converting it. Simply drag and drop the file into the software application and then preview, trim and combine multiple video clips into one movie. Turbo.264 HD can even handle batch processing and it automatically detects AVCHD camcorders.
Boost the speed of even the fastest Mac
Use the converter software on its own or with the included hardware accelerator. The hardware accelerator connects via USB and acts as a “co-processor” to accelerate video conversion on even the fastest Mac.

Answer
I have compared the output with the Matrox accelerator (which uses Quicktime) and it is somewhat softer in resolution. Since my workflow is from miniDVD to MP4, the Matrox is not an option since it will not demux Audio from the DVD. (THe video looks sharper, but there's no audio. …More

Is it capable of taking files from the Canon Mark 5D II and converting them so you can edit the files in Final Cut?
- Asked by Michael B from Saco
- Oct 13, 2009
Best Answer
The Canon EOS 5D MkII's video is recorded natively in H.264 at circa 38Mbs, that's a higher bit rate than HDV. Final Cut Pro v7 (part of Final Cut Studio v3) will natively handle the Canon's video with no conversion required.
The Elgato Turbo is essentially a convertor from a non H.264 format to an H.264 format or from one H.264 format to another H.264 format. …More- Answered by David O

Answer
The product will work with FCB Compressor. Not sure about what other apps it works with.
The App that comes with it is unique, so far as I can tell because it will accept and deMux MPEG2 (DVD) files as well as accept AVCHD. Quicktime and FCP will not do this directly. …More- Answered by Richard W from Atlanta
