Moshi ClearGuard Keyboard Protector for Aluminum MacBook and MacBook Pro
Best Keyboard cover
Written by SR from whitesboro

Pros
-practically invisible
-feels great
-very thing, you won't notice it's on after a while
-provides great protection against spills and dust
Cons
-kinda pricey for a piece of plastic but worth every penny, its the only one of its kinds out there right now. Others are made of super thick silicone.
-as it gets dirty, the more opaque it gets. So i decided to clean it with soap and water...BAD IDEA. the opaqueness got worse. So the solution is to rinse it GENTLY with water. DO NOT CRUMPLE IT UP AND SCRUB the wrinkles will be permanent. use a QTIP to clean it instead. And last but not the least go over it with a little bit of baby oil just to get it all clear and shiny again =) …More304 of 339 people found this useful

Moshi ClearGuard Keyboard Protector for Aluminum MacBook and MacBook Pro
Protects your keyboard
Written by MB from Costa Mesa

I just received this product today in the mail. It fits on perfectly (its very thin too), you can't even see it (my bf didn't even know it was on); however, there is a little spacing above the function keys. It also gives my keyboard a little glossier look. As for typing with the moshi clearguard on, it feels squishier and you have to push down a little more. I also let it sit on my laptop for a while with the screensaver on and when I came back, it felt a little warmer on top (I'll be testing it more to see if it makes my macbook warmer). Overall, it will definitely prevent oil, dirt, crumbs, ect. on getting on/in between your keys. It is a good buy, but I wish the price was a little less. …More

Moshi ClearGuard Keyboard Protector for Aluminum MacBook and MacBook Pro
The BEST keyboard skin ...
Written by JD from SAVANNAH
Mar 31, 2009
I don't know how I missed THIS one for so long, but luckily I finally came across this skin and I'm so glad that I did ... it's superb! Unlike it's rivals (all of which I've tried in the past) this one is actually clear and has a GORGEOUS tactile key response (meaning you can actually still type with little to no effort)! The others feel like you are attempting to type through THICK rubber cement ... but this one is SWEET! It's quite clear (almost invisible), it's very thin, and allows for easy depressing of keys!!!!! Pricey, yes it is! Worth the cost?! YES (especially considering the cash that I spent on the other, more cloudy, thick/gross/RUBBER models)! …More

Moshi ClearGuard Keyboard Protector for Aluminum MacBook and MacBook Pro
moves around
Written by KR from Queen Creek
Dec 15, 2009
This keyboard cover is very very thin, so you can't really tell it's even there. It feels awesome because it's so thing and it's easy to type. The only downside is it doesn't have a very hard grip on the keys, so the cover does move a lot for me. I ended up returning it and getting the zcover, which is obviously thicker than this one, but it sticks on to the keys just great. Hope this helps! :) …More

Does it interfere with being able to close the laptop? ie does it strain the hinges?

The Moshi ClearGuard lies so thinly, well-fitted and low on the keys, it has NO impact on the hinge when closed. Doesn't rise above the keys enough to push into the screen. However, I ALWAYS use the white foam-like sheet that was originally packed between keyboard and screen, softest side towards screen, when I close my MacBook Pro. Also, I bought and carefully trimmed and installed a protective strip below the keyboard, cut neatly around the trackpad - not on it. It's like grey suede. I got it for just $2.00 CDN in a sale bin... it was for an older model Mac but easily trims to size if you have the tools and are good with your hands. It protects the aluminum from getting scratched by my watch and MedicAlert bracelet. Softer on the wrist, too! Depending on your model of laptop, both items could increase the heat output, but so far, my MacBook Pro 15" is NO PROBLEM!!! Both items definitely worth buying, in my opinion. And EVERYTHING for Mac is over-priced but it's the only brand I buy! …More

If you use an air spray eachtime you use the computer what purpose does the clear guard have?

I don't know what you mean by air spray but my netbook did not like a soda dumped on it's keyboard. I was lucky because I was able to repair it myself. I don't want to think about what it would cost to fix my Macbook Pro. Sure there are other ways for liquid to enter the machine but by far the keyboard is the biggest. Also if you are like me and go camping or take your laptop out doors it really keeps down on the dust which can get in!
Of course ultimately it is up to you. The current skin I have is stiff and makes it a bit harder to type. I am looking into this one to see if it is easier to type. So that is the downside of having one of these... …More- Answered by IW from Livermore

Shouldn't restrict your airflow as the vents on the MacBook are on the back and the underside is still aluminum which will bleed off heat. …More
