I was shopping for a strategy game more like starcraft, age of empires, and galactic battlegrounds. Civilization does not deliver. The game moves through time too fast. I played there marathon length game from the stone age to the modern age (finishing the game) in all of two days. You don't have nearly enough time to strategically place strong troops in enemy territory before there is a technological breakthrough giving the enemy for example, a marine, while I just stationed a 15th century grenadier outside his city. Also, it isn't the real time strategy I was expecting. There is no battlefield strategy. You attack one turn, the attack you the next. Overall it's not a bad strategy game, it's just not one worth buying. …More
