    Amazingly Natural!

Intous4 from Wacom is a state of art. The Medium size is extremely portable yet the active area is sufficient for any thing you want to draw. It maps perfectly with my MacBook Pro screen. Learning /adaptability is quite smooth and easy, a couple of hours of training and your almost using it seamlessly. It feels so natural and inviting that the moment you install it and try it you will easily spend a couple of hours with it.

I have it for a couple of days now and I'm almost using it for every thing (I even tried hand writing, recognition was not as pleasurable as drawing - my experience points out to inkwell needs more tweaking, not the tablet. Hand writing though with no recognition is very natural as if I'm using my paper Moleskine sketch pads.

I highly recommend this product to any MAc user that is into using his / her Mac for visual production be it Painting, Photography, Sketching, compositing or Video.

    Excellent as Expected!

I also own an Intuos 3 SE and what I loved about my tablet was mirrored to this one and what I felt lacking was improved on the NEW Intuos 4 Design!!

The express Keys are GREAT and the new sleek design and material of the tablet itself is much more ergonomic and comfortable for hours of work.

Get it! I don't know what I would do without my tablet.

Phenomenal upgrade and a must for digital graphics pros

I put heavy demands on my tablet and, after 25 years of digital graphics, I have to say this is simply the best device I have ever used. I love this thing like I love a fine sable brush.

The 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity (as opposed to the 1024 in the generation 3 tablets) makes drawing in Photoshop and Sketchbook Pro feel as smooth as silk. The new pen nib technology also feels much more natural and has a superior bottom end pressure response.

In real terms, this means that I apply almost exactly the same light, deft pressure on my tablet that I do on paper with a pencil -- that's a major breakthrough.

Illustrators who are new to tablets will have an adjustment period, but this passes fairly quickly if you use the tablet regularly.

Small or medium tablets are adequate for almost all tasks. Don't buy a large one unless you try them out first. I have both a small and a medium tablet and can accomplish any professional graphics task with either one. I recommend the small to all my students.

Reliability is also good. All of my tablets are still in perfect working order when I retire them for the next generation devices at 3 or 4 yrs of age. Pens usually last about 2 to 3 years before losing sensitivity, and should be replaced.

i love this thing i use it at school all the time and is durable. only thing that gets annoying is the plastic that gets easily dirty but thats the only negative. i've dropped it multiple times and works like new its very durable. it's great when you don't have a sketch book near you because sketch book express and coral sketch pad (came with the tablet) work great. I have the Medium Intuos4 tablet and I use it with a dual monitor setup. One monitor is 22" and the other is 20" and I don't have any issues, actually just the opposite I rarely pick up my mouse anymore regardless of what application I am using. I was using a much small and older Wacom and then I bought a Genius pensketch because of the price but I LOVE my Intuos4. Love, love, love it. More

    It may provide some relief.

The problem with using a mouse for fine tasks on a computer is that you tend to carry out those fine small tasks with the big muscles in your forearm and your shoulder.

If I do Photoshop work, for example, with my mouse, I get a sore shoulder from the tension of the big muscles straining to hold on fine movements (you end up balancing one muscle against another to fine tune).

With the tablet, I use small muscles for fine tasks and big muscles for big ones, which results in far less arm strain for me.

The pen also allows me to hold my hand in a position that feels more relaxed and natural.

Whether this will improve an inflammation condition like tendonitis or not, I can't say. But it definitely results in less strain for me.
