    Looking for Digital Receipts??

    Written by DD from Marietta

If you'd like to convert all your paper receipts into a digital database and clean up your work environment this app is a must. In a nutshell, NeatWorks will scan your receipts and then do an OCR on the receipts and automatically port over the vendor, date, amount, etc. into the NeatWorks database. At the end of the day you have a easy, accessible record of all your receipts (and documents in general) that keeps a tally of your receipts by category. I'm a small business owner and I love the way this app keeps me organized and up-to-date. More

Not quite what I was looking for

Doesn't play well with my Canon MX860. "Scan in progress" for eternity - freezes.
Oriented around business cards and receipts primarily, and scanning other documents such as bank statements that has a monthly recurring nature would not be so easy to organize, for example, it does not seem to allow you to create a "sub-collection" under Collection, i.e having a collection called Bank, sub-collection: Citibank, and then a lower sub-collection called statement with the monthly statement as the individual item - Paperport works better in that aspect, but it no longer has a version for the current Mac OS X.

So not stable enough and the assumed workflow and document management orientation do not fit mine!

Works Great for Documents, Receipts and other.

I bought the software online and it works very well. There is some quirks with occasional "freezing" but nothing that can't be overcome easily. I use the software with a Fujitsu ScanSnap 5110 EOXM. The only issue is that for large (grocery type receipts) the scanner can't handle the document. NeatWorks has no problem if it is read properly. The software works great with receipts sent via e-mail as well. Good way to store receipts and other documents. I am looking at the portable scanner for receipts as being more efficient for longer receipts. More

Software doesn't work well with Neat Receipts either

    Written by WP from Hummelstown

I tried this with my current scanner and it's as worthless as the Neat Receipts for Mac hardware. Locks up. Decides what it wants to enter and overwrites your settings. This company should go back and rethink what they are offering for MAC users before trotting their products out. More
