Griffin PowerBlock Reserve AC Charger and Rechargeable Backup Battery
Compact & convenient but not much power
Written by PA from Silver Spring

This AC charger with integrated battery is very nicely designed, and the battery is small, light and convenient to carry around.
When I plug the battery into my iPhone 3Gs when the charge is 20%, it increases to around 50% very quickly (15 minutes). Then the reserve battery needs to be recharged again.
Compared to other products with a much higher capacity, such as the Richard Solo 1800 (which I read about but do not own), this product has a very small capacity.
I am planning to keep it, because for $40 it's worth it to me as it's so small, fits very well on the iPhone (and looks good too) and is so nicely designed and easy to carry around.
However, when I bought it I expected it to have a higher capacity (more than just adding 30% to the iPhone charge).
I would have rated it 5-stars if it had more capacity. …More44 of 49 people found this useful

Griffin PowerBlock Reserve AC Charger and Rechargeable Backup Battery
WOW!

This is an awesome product. The magnets hold the battery piece in the charger when charging. This is really easy and convenient to use. When it is done charging the lights will all turn green to let you know. Just plug into the bottom of your iPhone and and it powers up pretty quickly I must say. I'm looking forward to using this on my travels flying. This is a strongly suggested product from a happy camper. …More

Griffin PowerBlock Reserve AC Charger and Rechargeable Backup Battery
Works like a charm
Written by KR from Toronto

Does exactly what it says it will. Also provides a second USB adaptor which, an Apple brand one, would cost $30. Great to have in your bag for when you're on the go and have forgotten to charge your phone the night before.... I'm sure it will be a life saver at some point.
One thing I would want which wasn't included is a protector for the connector, being a backup and something which I wont make use of every day its bound to find its way to the bottom of my bag, and who knows what sort of crummy things await it there.
Also the lights indicating the amount of charge left in the battery pack only work once plugged into the phone... it would be nice to be able to check at a glance to see if the pack is full or not when its not charging the phone.
All in all though worth the money to feel reassured. …More29 of 34 people found this useful

Griffin PowerBlock Reserve AC Charger and Rechargeable Backup Battery
OK Product
Written by PJ from Chillicothe

I purchased this to use as a back up in case I needed extra juice. This is in no way a replacement for charging your Iphone. It will give you enough extra power to use your phone or ipod in the event your battery is low. I will keep this product (and keep it charged in my handbag) when I am traveling as and emergency power source. I would give it 5 stars if it increased my battery power more than 30 percent. …More

Griffin PowerBlock Reserve AC Charger and Rechargeable Backup Battery
After 4 months of VERY LIGHT use

The aux battery took my iphone from 10% to 24% charge last night. This is after leaving the aux battery on the charger overnight.
I was hopeful this product could provide me a reasonable backup power supply for the iphone when away from a charger, but alas, I'll have to keep searching. …More6 of 7 people found this useful

Griffin PowerBlock Reserve AC Charger and Rechargeable Backup Battery
Beats having nothing at all!
Written by DB from Honolulu

Like all the other reviews, the lack of being able to fully charge my I pod touch was disappointing. Carrying the Pack around with no protection over the connector is scary.
I had to use my dual USB connector to charge it in the house. I am glad that I can charge my I Touch and the Battery at the same time, but it does get very warm.
I think I would rather have the Mophie, but at $99.00 ?
If the battery was 800 to 1000 mah I would rate this product 5 stars! …More13 of 17 people found this useful
