Great Sound
Written by JJ from Greenville

I just purchased the Sound Dock II and with Bose, I'm never disappointed. I have their LifeStyle 48 system, and for an iPhone/iPod speaker, the sound is full and faithful. It's a little light, and if you want the portability, you'll have to spring for an extra $100 to get a battery operated one. The power cord is very long (almost too long), and the Silver color is a nice shade for almost anywhere. The remote is nice too. I just wish they would allow you to delve deeper into a playlist as you have to have one in order for it to play endlessly. What's also nice is the fact that almost any iPod, except the shuffle, will be accepted in the front. I downloaded a free app which displays a clock in almost any configuration and color which makes the unit handy for timekeeping as well. …More

EXCELLENT!!! THANK YOU BOSE!!!
Written by LE from Brooklyn

Excellent sound, bass, crispness, sleek look, space saving and includes a remote. Although I purchased mine from Target for $269, the price is questionable and really needs an overhaul. At a price point of $199.99, I think everyone could and would make this purchase. Even if the price stayed at $269.00 and the system had a AM/FM radio and included a better remote for the playlists, I would have gotten another. I can not give it a 5 star rating due to the price, but this system definitely sounds and looks great...You will not have buyers remorse with this purchase :-)

Bose® SoundDock® Series II Digital Music System
Appropriately Priced - For the discerning Ear
Written by TD from Edmonton

As always with BOSE, you get what you pay for. It's not so much the components but rather the way that they interact together that makes these speakers great. Similar to an apple computer, the parts "Just Work" together. I would suggest trying them out in the store before purchasing to be sure that these are the right speakers for you.
You can't hear the difference by reading online reviews so don't put your faith into uninformed, blatantly brand based and opinionated "reviews". As with any purchase that will effect the quality of your day-to-day life you should experience the product in person. Try these speakers out for yourself in the store. Decide from there if having superior quality is worth the $300 price tag or if you are fine with speakers that are significantly less expensive and still of decent quality.
It's apparent that a few of these reviews have been written by advertising bodies who are in direct competition with BOSE. Disregard the "Word of mouth" that you find online as a good portion of it is written by manufacturers. Apple would not charge $300 for speakers with horrible quality let alone use valuable presentation space in apple stores to an inferior product. Nobody would buy them. …MoreWas this useful?

Awful sound, expensive, doesn't even have specs listed.
Written by VJ from CHICAGO

I was so disappointed when I turned it on. It sounded hollow, like an old transistor radio. I don't understand: why all the good reviews? I returned it and bought the JBL 400P. Lightyears better - immediate difference. Notice that the Bose system doesn't have any specs listed on the site; my guess is because the specifications are not impressive and need to be hidden. The specs were not listed even in the owner's manual when I received the product! The smaller, lighter, and more affordable JBL speaker actually has a subwoofer built in, which I found odd for such a small unit, so I decided to order that one instead. Wow, what a difference! …More
