Great Sound
I just purchased the Sound Dock II and with Bose, I'm never disappointed. I have their LifeStyle 48 system, and for an iPhone/iPo d speaker, the sound is full and faithful. It's a little light, and if you want the portability, you'll have to spring for an extra $100 to get a battery operated one. The power cord is very long (almost too long), and the Silver color is a nice shade for almost anywhere. The remote is nice too. I just wish they would allow you to delve deeper into a playlist as you have to have one in order for it to play endlessly. What's also nice is the fact that almost any iPod, except the shuffle, will be accepted in the front. I downloaded a free app which displays a clock in almost any configuration and color which makes the unit handy for timekeeping as well. …

EXCELLENT!!! THANK YOU BOSE!!!
Excellent sound, bass, crispness, sleek look, space saving and includes a remote. Although I purchased mine from Target for $269, the price is questionable and really needs an overhaul. At a price point of $199.99, I think everyone could and would make this purchase. Even if the price stayed at $269.00 and the system had a AM/FM radio and included a better remote for the playlists, I would have gotten another. I can not give it a 5 star rating due to the price, but this system definitely sounds and looks great...You will not have buyers remorse with this purchase :-)

Never doubted this would produce spectacular sound and I was not disappointed. Excellent power and clarity. I have the Bose Soun dDock Portable and it has been a joy to use plus the sound and battery life is amazing. Best speaker of its kind available. …

Great sound. Charges phone while you listen
Love it. Only drawback I can see is that you need to remove your phone from the case (if you use a case that is).

Best Sound
I own two Bose docks for the iPod. One is in the garage, where I putter for long hours, and the other is beside my MacBook Pro in the office. I hardly know what to think of people who criticize the sound these small units produce. Full range, no distortion, room-filling - just great sound! I have to be careful in the garage not to turn the unit up so loud that it disturbs the neighbors, and the fact that it sound so good at high volume - well, it speaks volumes. It isn't the cheapest way to play music, but if you like really good sound, this is as good as it gets. …

Eventually kills battery
First, I LOVE my Bose speaker! The only problem is, the ipod constantly charges while it is in the dock. This actually reduces t he battery life. The iPod I use in the speaker no longer holds a charge. Unless its plugged in, the iPod won't make it through a whole song now.
That being said, I like the speaker enough that I got a second iPod and the older one is dedicated to the speaker. Kind of a pain but worth it! …- Written by Brian B from Huntersville

Erin, I bought the Sound Dock II and the 30 pin lightning connector and my nano worked fine for a sh ort while. When it quit working I went to return the dock and it was the lightning pin that was defective. However, I was told that because the nano has bluetooth that a Bose with bluetooth would be better so we bought the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II and it works great. And no pin needed! Hope this helps. Irma …
