Kensington Dash Mount for iPhone and iPod
Depends what your looking for
Written by GG from Houston

I keep my iPhone in a case. I first bought the Griffin Dash Mount, which is great if you don't have a case, its snug, doesn't wobble and looks great. However, I got tired of taking my phone in and out of it's case to snap it into the mount. Therefore, I returned it and bought this Kensington mount which works perfectly. Only problem is that it will wobble a little while driving b/c the arm isn't as steady as the Griffin one. If you're looking for a window mount to hold an ipod or iphone with a case, I suggest this mount, otherwise go for the Griffin. …More

Kensington Dash Mount for iPhone and iPod
Works well . . .
Written by LE from Modesto

. . . but the adhesive is horrible and flimsy. It cannot hold up the weight and use of the dash mount, so I figured out a way around it. Unfortunately, I had to use the suction cup and stick it on my windshield, even though in the state of California, it is illegal to have anything on the windshield. I like this more than other dash mounts because of its adjustable arm to fit any of my other gadgets, such as my iPod Nano, my husband's BB Curve, and my iPhone. By the way, the mount can swivel sideways to accommodate the iPhone as well. Over all, I can't complain; I enjoy having my iPhone near, so I can use the speakerphone instead of an ugly bluetooth headset. …More

windshield mount good... dash mount not so good
Written by RH from Honolulu

The 3M peel-and-stick-on pad actually sticks to the dash very well. It's the base that doesn't stick well to the 3M thing, despite being put together at the factory. For me, I've had to constantly fiddle with the mount to keep it stuck and my iPhone positioned correctly. Then when I park my car for a while, it comes loose even w/o the weight of my iPhone. On a few hot days, I found the mount and base on the floor of my car. What's up with that? The good reviews here are probably all based on the windshield mount option, which doesn't require the use of the base. The irony here is that the sticky pad is now stuck to my dash, and I have to figure out how to get it off. Maybe a hot blow dryer will do the trick. …More

Kensington Dash Mount for iPhone and iPod
beware: mount for dash
Written by BT from San Diego

i just received this in the mail and quickly went to install on my dash. i prepped the dash w/ the supplied alcohol pad and placed the dash mount accessory. as soon as i attached the arm to the plate, the entire thing came off the dash w/ ease. i checked the adhesive pad and there was almost zero stick on it. i know its not my dash because i had another mount there w/ the same application, an adhesive pad.
so i called kensington and got someone that barely spoke english, explained the problem and told me they wont do anything and to call apple for a replacement. i call apple and they claim since its a 3rd party product, they cant do anything regarding the warrantee (which is understandable) and to call back kensington.
it looks like i just wasted 30.00 + shipping on this lame mount. beware of purchasing this, if you get a faulty unit, youre out of luck... …More48 of 56 people found this useful
