Surprisingly Powerful!
Written by KJ from Vancouver
Dec 25, 2008
I just got a pair of these for Christmas and I had seen them on the Apple web site before. They look so modern and cool and I have found in the past that for a price like this, you either compromise on looks or sound and seeing it's looks I figured the sound wouldn't be very good.
I was wrong! The sound is fantastic, loud and great for $50 speakers! They charge so quickly and are amazingly portable. My Macbook Air speakers are not loud at all and now for music, movies, or whatever, I can have great sound, that isn't even too "tin-y" and carries enough bass!
I would recommend them to everyone, and I think now my dad who travels wants some, especially since if they're used with an iPod, you don't even need a dock!

Great Quality for Set of Small Portable Speakers
Written by ZS from Foxboro
Dec 4, 2009
I bought these because i work in a mobile lab with a decent amount of generator noise and my laptop speakers just weren't cutting it. I can't even play music at full volume because they are too loud! The sound quality is very good for such a small set of speakers- the bass is hardly spectacular but the mids and highs are crisp and clear. As would be expected, the sound quality deteriorates dramatically when maxed out (tinny and distorted) but at that volume it was also physically difficult to tolerate in close proximity (sitting next to laptop). I am very satisfied and think it would be difficult to find better quality in the same price range. …More

Mini Speakers: Pip Squeakers
Written by SB from Bedford
Oct 30, 2009
As soon as I opened the box, I knew the iHome iHM77 Stereo Mini Speakers were incapable of producing the "great sound" some reviewers claimed. Each is the size of half a lemon. (A coincidence? I think not.) Nevertheless, I plugged them into my iPhone to see whether, perhaps, I was unaware of some new sonic breakthrough. No such luck. These speakers sound like they look—like little, cheap, squeaky toys that came in a cereal box and might be appreciated if you had heard no music at all for the last 20 years while you were serving time on Devil’s Island. But for those of you who know what your music collection is supposed to sound like, don’t even think about these mini-(rhymes with tinny)-speakers (rhymes with weaker than...say...the Antarctican Army). You’ll have to go through the hassle of returning them, as I did. …More

iHome iHM77 Stereo Mini Speakers (Silver)
Terrible!
Written by EW from Cincinnati
Oct 29, 2009
The iHome iHM77 Stereo Mini Speakers are virtually useless. The sound seems to be emanating from tuna fish cans. Any bass is completely non-existent. Although you can still listen to them while charging, static ensues, compromising the listening experience. Any audiophile or casual customer is certain to be disappointed with these speakers. …More

Yes, you get everything needed. There's one cord for charging AND sound output. The cord has the headphone jack, a USB jack for charging, and two jacks that connect to the speakers themselves. I just bought mine today and it's GREAT! i hope you get them too. …More

They are internal and not user-replaceable or user-accessible. Charging is done via the included USB cable. I do not know the actual cells used because finding out would void the warranty. …More
