I m new to Mac but was able to move all my docs, pics, music, even Outlook mails data to Mac Mail easy and quick. Very Nice!

Does NOT work

I bought my Mac Book Pro 2 weeks ago. I bought Move to Mac a week ago. Followed all directions and tips. Every time I booted up Move2Mac on the PC (toshiba satellite not even one year old- Vista) it had an error and had to shut down.
I have contacted Tech support for Move 2 Mac, and first they sent me to down load another program version (upgrade). Then I tried that, same thing.
Then tech support had me try using an external hard drive rather than a network to do the transfer. I still get the same error.
This program does NOT work. I am working on getting a refund now. This program should not be in the apple store since it does NOT work. …More7 of 10 people found this useful

Move2Mac doesn't work

I spent more than 6 hours trying to move all my data to my new Mac. Saving my data from my PC Ok, recovering the data onto my Mac didn't work.
After this, there is nothing in Documents, photos or itunes, and any folder 'Data to import' on My Desktop. I'll claim a refund. …More3 of 3 people found this useful

Move2Mac first compiles all of your PC data into some kind of proprietary database structure and then moves those files to your Mac. When running Move2Mac, you have little control over which data you want complied & prepared to move. On my PC, this process took four hours, and -- between the various instructions I got from the application & tech support -- I went through the process four times. Then, Move2Mac would not install properly on the my MacBook, so I could never make the connection between the machines. Later, I found out it didn't matter anyway because Move2Mac doesn't translate email databases into a format that can be imported into Apple's Mail. I processed for a refund. …More

I used Move2Mac to migrate my Windows system to my new MacBook Pro. Everything worked as it should. I was concerned that it would take a really long time (I have a lot of music), but it actually turned out to move very quickly.
