Ratings & Reviews

  • By any name, it's mightier than the mouse

    5.0 out of 5 stars

Originally called the Logitech Marble Mouse Trackball, the TrackMan Marble Trackball is the superior alternative to the mouse. Un like a mouse, it sits in one place and your fingers use that big burgundy ball to move the pointer. Your thumb does the clicking and once you get accustomed to it, using a mouse will seen quaint and clunky.

Long before the optical mouse rose to fame, Logitech was already employing optical technology in the TrackMan Marble and its siblings. Pop out the ball and you'll find a small rectangular window. Behind that window are an infrared LED and the sensor. Together, they track the movement of the marble's leopard spots. It might not be as sexy as the red glow of a conventional optical mouse but it gets the job done with more precision and comfort. The TrackMan Marble is even ambidextrous, allowing lefties to use it as easily as righties. Oh, and those two tiny buttons near the big buttons? Those take the place of the scroll wheel, allowing you to cruise up and down the screen.

  • Great Mouse

    5.0 out of 5 stars

I use to use this mouse at my old job designing graphic arts, and custom signs in 2005, and I thought this mouse was amazing then. Now I final found another Logitech trackman at the apple store online, for everywhere else kept sending me a refund, because no one seems to have this mouse in stock. No more moving my arm around in circles like I am scary. By far this is the best mouse out there right now, and it is so difficult to get it online or in stores anywhere. I think it is being discontinue.

  • The best precision device for the Visio addict

    5.0 out of 5 stars

I have arthritic hands and almost every other pointing device is painful for me to us. My daily work often includes hours of deve loping precise diagrams of many kinds in Visio. The Logitech TrackMan Marble Trackball allows me to quickly, precisely, and painlessly develop the most intricate details. I have one at work, one at home, and one in my knapsack. As this device won't work with an iPad, my laptop still comes with me any place where I need to do more than note taking. This is a long-lasting and wonderful product. (I just wish Logitech would develop a Bluetooth version so it would also work with an iPad.)

  • software not compatible for multiple users

The buttons are not programable for multiple users. If the main user logs out, the other users can not program the buttons and it defaults to original settings. ;-((

  • Best I have EVER used!

    5.0 out of 5 stars

I stumbled upon this unique device may years ago and have had 2 different models. Either one could easily be considered the best 'comfort' device I have ever used.
No more worrying about whether or not the table is dusty or that little ball inside the normal mice needs cleaning or wondering how to get to it to clean it so you can at least make some progress. This ball pops right out, is easy to handle both literally and for the task at hand!
If you are suffering from arthritis for example, I'm not though lot of us are, this mouse sits in place and does all your function sitting still!
I wouldn't pay money for any other kind!
